We were never meant to carry our burdens alone. The cross, the cross alone, already took care of that. So why do we punish ourselves by insisting on carrying all our baggage with us, as if Jesus cannot possibly understand or help?
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. [‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’]
