Imagine your favorite novel. All the characters are living, breathing, so full of life in the story. As the author keeps writing the novel, he knows exactly what happens to the characters. Even when he steps away to take a break from writing, nothing happens in the story that he doesn’t know about. Our God is like an author – He is always watching over us and protecting us. He knows how the story ends, the story began, He even knew the story before it even became a story. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them [Psalm 139:16]. Let us never forget that He alone is the only one who has been with us since the beginning, and is the only one who will never leave us. He is the only constant, the only one we can depend on, the only one whose faithfulness to us surpasses our understanding. He is our one thing.
Your voice ever close you called me. You never gave up pursuing. I fell in love, You stole my heart. Your hand ever near I hold to. I long for Your heart, to know you, just to live in your fellowship. Just to be close to you, just to walk next to you. This is my one thing, You are my one thing.
